Rio Powerflex Tippet
RIO Powerflex Tippet is a high-tenacity copolymer tippet material for forming the final section of a fly-fishing leader. It combines good knot strength and abrasion resistance with the suppleness and stretch needed for practical rigging and controlled presentation. Its balanced elongation also helps the tippet absorb sudden movement when casting, striking and playing a fish.
The light grey colour provides discreet camouflage across a range of underwater conditions. Powerflex can be knotted to the end of a tapered leader when its tip becomes shortened, or used as part of a hand-tied leader. It is suitable for a broad variety of species and fly-fishing methods, with the chosen diameter matched to fly size, water conditions and the likely size of fish.
Select the required X rating from the product options. Lower X numbers indicate thicker material for larger flies, stronger fish or situations where extra abrasion resistance is useful. Higher X numbers provide a finer connection for smaller flies and more delicate presentations, but call for greater care when striking and playing fish.
