Sinking Fly Lines
Sinking fly lines - irreplaceable for saltwater, lake and river fishing. It is almost impossible to even imagine fishing for some fish species without an appropriate sinking fly line. In our shop you will find a wide range of sinking fly lines in various sinking and AFTM ratings, e.g.: sinking fly lines for fishing with streamer in rivers, in lakes or salt waters.

What sinking fly line to choose – help.
Fly line sinking type – always provided by manufacturers, usually from I to VII. It informs how many inches per one second the line sinks – this parameter applies to a fly line free fall in still water. That is: a line in type I sinks at the speed of 1 inch/s and a line in type III - at the speed 3 inches/s. When choosing the fly line, one must take into consideration other factors such as water flow which naturally pulls the line, salinity (salty water is more buoyant), technique (in a lake, for example, one can wait until the line sinks deeper). In most cases it is assumed that for fishing in an average-depth river one should have lines in type I-III whereas for deep water fishing - type IV-VI. For lake fishing, slow sinking fly lines in rating I as well as fast sinking ones in type VI-VII are necessary.
Fly lines in high sinking type (VI-VIII) often use monolithic core which makes them very fine (braided core has air inside). When choosing your sinking fly line, you should also consider sink tip lines whose the taper length is more than 8-9 m. Such lines sink in a similar way to sinking fly lines but the running line floats on the water surface, which is an advantage.
