Fishing with a dry fly is considered the most elegant and classic way of angling. Nothing compares to the view of a trout or a grayling being caught with a dry fly. Dry flies usually imitate insects which as a result of their life cycle swim upwards from the bottom to the surface or lay eggs on the water.
Historically, dry flies do not date back far. The first dry flies appeared at the end of 19th century around 1850 and for a long time they used to present a winged dry fly – an imago of an (adult) insect.
Today there is a multitude of dry fly types. In our shop we offer both classic dry flies as well as those with CDC, imitations of mayflies, caddisflies, beetles and grasshoppers. With us you will be able to purchase imitations of the smallest insects which are popular in the fall or in the winter, as well as bigger dry flies that imitate mayflies.
